General Education - Cohort, Business and Leadership Orientation
If a college degree is your goal, GenEd-cohort —Mountain State University’s unique program for completing general education requirements—is the first step. With one night a week in the classroom for four semesters, you can complete the basic studies that are required for all of the University's associate and bachelor’s degree programs.

How it Works
In each of the four semesters, you’ll take a group of related classes with an emphasis on the real-world connections between subjects. The first semester is devoted to qualitative study, with studies in writing, speech, and ethics. The second semester focuses on quantitative study, including mathematics, sciences, and computer skills. In the third semester, you concentrate on applied studies in such fields as history, sociology, psychology, and philosophy. The fourth and final semester is spent in career-specific foundation courses.

Then What?
At the end, you’ll have earned 48 credit hours that can be applied to an associate or bachelor's degree program. Mountain State University offers programs in many fields through Independent Study and other formats designed to be convenient to adult learners.

Completing the business and leadership orientation track will qualify you for the degree completion program in Organizational Leadership or give you a start in most other programs within the School of Business.
