Health Science
If you have a traditional health care background and are ready to transition to advanced work in education or administration, Mountain State University' s Master of Health Science can help you meet your career goals. The degree provides options for those within related specialties, such as safety officers and advisors, occupational health nurses, safety and training coordinators, risk managers, occupational hygienists, ventilation engineers, and people in other health sciences-related fields.
MSU offers two structured degree concentrations for the Master of Health Science:
- Aging Studies. Provides perspectives on aging for health and social service personnel. Design can be adjusted to include any needed research and statistics components.
- Health Care Executive. Useful for administrators or those moving into administrative roles. Content blends executive material with coursework in effective communication and a directed field experience. Design can be adjusted to include any needed research and statistics components.
When and where can I complete my studies?
The Master of Health Science is offered through the School of Graduate Studies on MSU's main campus in Beckley, W.Va. An individualized structure integrates a variety of disciplines and incorporates such elements as mentored learning, practicum experiences, and other forms of study.
A flexible format will allow you to work toward your degree part time or at a distance. You will also be able to tailor your study to your specific professional context and to use your current work environment as a setting for action research.
