Advanced Diagnostic Imaging (ADI)
Diagnostic imaging provides a balanced combination of technical work with direct
patient care, with excellent employment and salary prospects.
Why MSU for ADI?
Mountain State University's Bachelor of Science in advanced diagnostic imaging combines studies in two high-demand fields — diagnostic medical sonography and radiologic technology — to give you the greatest range of short- and long-term career prospects in the field.
Prospective students begin by completing the requirements for the A.S. in radiologic technology, after which they apply for the ADI program. If accepted, students go on to complete the remaining ADI requirements, which include studies in DMS and bachelor's-level general education requirements. Career Opportunities
ADI students graduate with a unique skill set that provides them with a strong competitive edge in the workplace. It also opens up the opportunity for specialization, which often leads to a substantial increase in income.
Combining the work of a radiologic technologist with that of the diagnostic medical sonographer, health care professionals with a degree in ADI perform imaging examinations, including X-ray, CT, MRI, and DMS, for use in diagnosing medical problems.
The U.S. Department of Labor projects a faster than average growth in employment for diagnostic imaging professionals through 2018. Opportunities include full- and part-time employment in a variety of settings.
