    Phlebotomy

Mountain State University's certificate in phlebotomy program can put a student on the fast track to a successful medical career. Our phlebotomy program prepares students for the national Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) exam and credential.

    Why MSU for Phlebotomy?

MSU's phlebotomy program includes instruction in phlebotomy, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical laboratory science, and pharmacology, providing students with a firm foundation on which to build a supportive career in the medical field. Students will gain hands-on experience in the MSU laboratories, where they will learn venipuncture techniques with manikins before performing practical applications on patients.

The phlebotomy certificate program is open to students in the medical assisting program or other associate or bachelor programs, as well as individuals who wish to become an RPT without enrolling in a degree program.

    Career Opportunities

After completing the certificate and earning a passing score on the national RPT exam, you will be qualified to obtain blood samples from patients in hospitals, home health settings, surgery centers, clinics, physician' offices, insurance companies, blood banks, and research facilities.
