    Governance

The School of Nursing governs and conducts its business through school committees with representatives from the faculty and students. The shared governance structure within Mountain State University's School of Nursing was established and allows nursing to express and manage the educational environment with a greater level of autonomy.

The purpose of the nursing shared governance model is to provide direction for nursing education at MSUSON. We believe that shared governance is a collaborative relationship between the faculty, staff, deans, and administrators working to enhance excellent teaching and learning outcomes, quality student services, and increased program effectiveness. The goal of shared governance in nursing education is providing the autonomy and accountability essential to keep the learner at the center of quality education. The nursing shared governance model is an organizational structure providing direction for nursing.
