Nursing

Master of Science in Nursing

M.S.N. Program Requirements

Offered on the Beckley, Martinsburg, and Orlando campuses through the School of Nursing

The program leading to the Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) prepares nurses for advanced practice roles in a variety of settings. The degree program offers excellent preparation to students who intend to continue their graduate-level studies and those who plan to apply their knowledge and skills in health care settings.

Most students within the program continue to work full or part time during their graduate studies, classes are offered in a variety of formats—weekly, every other week, and monthly—and such services as registration, advising, and library research assistance are available evenings as well as during the day.

While completing MSU's M.S.N., students may choose one of our concentrations. Currently, we offer concentrations in two areas: nursing administration and education or family nurse practitioner.

The M.S.N program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 500, Atlanta GA 30326, tel 404.975.5000).
