The Office of Campus Life Mission Statement

Flowing directly from the institutional mission statement of Mountain State University the Office of Campus Life delivers meaningful services, programming, and opportunities for traditional and non-traditional students.

The Office of Campus Life at MSU:

  • Fosters an environment and campus culture that leads to opportunities for personal and professional success.
  • Provides opportunity for students to interact, communicate, and develop critical thinking skills.
  • Creates a stimulating and supportive environment with activities and programming.

Welcome
The Office of Student Affairs supports programs which encourage a sense of community and concept of total student development. It is committed to providing an environment conducive to personal, cultural, social, ethical, emotional, recreational, spiritual and organizational development through co-curricular involvement.

If you are planning to attend or are currently attending MSU and would like to know how to get involved in activities, this is the place to come. College is a total living and learning experience, incorporating both academics and personal growth. As you will soon discover, academic and personal growth can be enhanced by involvement in student organizations and activities.

The Office of Student Affairs provides leadership development and experiences so students who choose to become involved in the co-curricular program can transfer their learned skills to their professional and community involvement after graduation. In order to accomplish this, the Office of Student Activities will continue to plan, implement, evaluate and support programs designed to meet the needs of students.

Extracurricular activities include concerts, dances, lectures, movies, hypnotists, sports, comedians, and other live performances. Students not only have the opportunity to participate in these extracurricular activities, but to plan them as well. These experiences provide sound leadership development and make for lasting friendships and memories.

By joining one of MSU’s student clubs and organizations you can make the campus feel like a smaller place. You have the opportunity to make new friends outside the classroom. You can develop leadership, management and interpersonal skills by taking on responsibilities within your student organization. Most of all, you can contribute something worthwhile to yourself and the MSU community by being an active part of it!
