Applied Music

Students who wish to learn music appreciation, how to play a new instrument, or expand upon their craft, and earn an extra credit while doing so will enjoy taking a variety of one-credit-hour Applied Music classes. 

Courses are rapidly evolving and increasing in variety, but include on a rotating basis:  Music Appreciation, Music for Teachers, Applied Brass, Applied Guitar I and II, Applied Mandolin I & II, Applied Piano, Applied Voice, Applied Fiddle I & II, Applied Rock Guitar, Applied Bluegrass Singing I and II, MSU Pep Band, New River Area Concert Band, MSU Choir, and Applied Woodwinds.  On the planning charts are applied courses on banjo and bass.  Contact your advisor or the current MSU semester schedule for current special topics course availability.
