Cover Letters

Think of a cover letter as a formal introduction of yourself to potential employers.  The letter simply states who you are, what you want, a short description of your background, and explains the benefits you offer an organization.  A cover letter should accentuate your skills, talents, and qualifications as they relate to the available job position.  It is best to express knowledge of the company by utilizing key words and phrases specific to its industry.  If you suggest a course of action in the letter (that you will call for an interview next week, send references, credentials, or transcripts, etc.), then you must follow through.
