POSITION: Programmer (Applications Developer)

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field with two years experience with the overall software development life cycle (planning/engineering through testing) and database development cycles; Microsoft certifications preferred but not required; demonstrate practical abilities using Visual Basic .NET and/or ASP .NET, i.e. a portfolio; One year or more of programming experience either full/part time employment or an internship; 1-2 years experience with Visual Studio .NET, Visual Basic 6.x, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and COBOL; experience with writing programs for and using Microsoft Active Directory and the IBM AS400 system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following: application development using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0, Microsoft Visual Basic .NET, ASP .NET, COBOL, Microsoft SQL Server, Active X, Windows Controls, Windows Class Libraries, Microsoft Access, CDO and MAPI objects. Write programs that will interact with Microsoft Active Directory. Use and write programs that exchange data between Windows and other systems. Assist Database Administrator in script analysis and report creation/modification. Assists computer system users and trains users in use of applications developed by employee. Analyze and develop applications suited for university use as determined bu Director of IT. Occasional, limited miscellaneous support for Jenzabar and Cougar Web as required.
