Graduate and Post Graduate Standards

The Office of Financial Aid will review all financial aid recipients at the end of each semester after the grades have been posted. All elements of satisfactory academic progress will be evaluated:

1. Completion Rate. At the end of each semester, a student's academic progress will be measured by comparing the number of attempted credit hours with the credit hours earned (i.e. received a grade of A, B, C, or D). This includes any course for which the student has remained enrolled past the Add/Drop period. Students must complete 85% of the credits they attempt each semester.

2. Cumulative GPA. At the end of each semester, a student's academic progress will be measured reviewing the student's cumulative grade point average (GPA). This includes a course for which the student has remained enrolled past the add/drop period. A graduate and or post graduate student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards.

The Financial Warning and Financial Probation status designations and appeal procedures are the same for graduate and post graduate students as for undergraduate.

Students pursuing both an undergraduate and a graduate degree simultaneously

If a student has not completed an undergraduate degree and is taking graduate classes, being placed on Financial Aid Warning and/ or Financial Aid Probation for one program will be considered the same for both programs.
