508 Pathophysiology (3)
Prereq: undergraduate courses in pathophysiology and pharmacology. Introduction to the physiology of medicine, with a particular focus on the physiological mechanisms underlying illness. Initial emphasis placed on physiological processes common to all cells of the body, leading to a presentation of specialized functions of nerve and muscle cells. Finally, essential physiological concepts at the organ and system level are presented, followed by a series of student seminars. Review and expansion of normophysiology, followed by a discussion of pathophysiological states. F.
