GRADUATE CATALOG INDEX

At a point defined by your program, you are eligible to change your status from graduate student to degree candidate. Once you are granted candidacy, you are required to maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 to maintain good standing and to meet any additional program requirements for degree candidates.
Once you reach your program’s point of eligibility, you are required to submit a master’s degree candidacy form to your program administrator or have the program administrator confirm your eligibility for the degree on your progression sheet.
The grade-point average for degree candidacy is calculated for all courses in the degree program, all courses in the major discipline, and all other graduate courses recognized as meeting program requirements. Any graduate student whose cumulative GPA falls below 3.0 after being granted candidacy is no longer classified as a degree candidate.
