CRIMINAL JUSTICE (B.S., A.S.)
School of Arts and Sciences Click here for A.S Start Dates

The B.S. program in criminal justice consists of a foundation in communication, humanities, social sciences, cultural diversity, and natural sciences, along with specialized studies to prepare students for a professional career in the criminal justice or social service systems.

Students in the B.S. program choose from concentrations in corrections management, homeland security, or police science. Graduates may be prepared to enter law school or a graduate program. Career choices include law enforcement, corrections, courts, probation, parole, victim services, juvenile justice, case management, homeland security, and industrial and private security.

Graduates of the two-year associate program are essentially qualified for a bachelor’s degree program or an entry-level position.

The associate degree is available in both classroom-based and online formats. In the bachelor’s degree program, the corrections management and homeland security concentrations are available online or in the classroom, and the police science concentration is available only in a classroom setting. For information on a related program, see the Criminal Justice Administration concentration of the Organizational Leadership degree program in the School of Leadership and Professional Development section.
