PSYCHOLOGY OF EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT (A.A.S.)
School of Arts and Sciences

The A.A.S. program in psychology of early childhood development provides a comprehensive knowledge base for birth-to-kindergarten educators. The program investigates a broad array of early childhood core topics, critical and reflective analyses, international perspectives, and innovative and futuristic approaches to education. Students typically conduct 15 hours of observation in the center where they have completed their ACDS training; exceptions require the instructor’s permission.

The program is available at educational sites throughout West Virginia as well as the Beckley and Martinsburg campuses.

Degree Requirements
In addition to required coursework (including the University’s general education requirements), the program requires 32 semester hours of prior learning credit from child development ACDS training.
