Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership
School of Leadership & Professional Development
|
 |
This program is administered in a group setting, in either an in-seat or an on-line format. FAA certificates and ratings can be used to meet all or a portion of the career component. A Cessna Pilot Center student that has earned a commercial pilot certificate with an instrument rating, a multi-engine rating, and single engine, multi-engine and instrument flight instructor ratings would qualify for the full 44 credit hours needed in the career component.
The Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership degree utilizes three components and prepares students for a career in leadership and management with an aviation emphasis. These three components are:
| General education courses |
36 credit hours |
| Organizational Leadership cohort courses |
48 credit hours |
| FAA certificates and ratings |
44 credit hours |
This program offers a high degree of structure and an accelerated completion schedule. In this format, learning occurs in a community setting in which students are encouraged and supported by the other members of their cohort. They have the opportunity to interact with students from other professions, providing a highly valuable networking opportunity not available in most academic settings. The learning is asynchronous in nature with each course lasting approximately 5 weeks and incorporating a one hour per week on-line meeting with the MSU faculty. Cohorts start whenever there are sufficient students, usually every other month.
