Why choose the National Institute for Culinary Arts?

A career in culinary is an exciting, dynamic and fulfilling choice for people who love to cook...just like you! We at the National Institute for Culinary Arts think that your experience should reflect that passion, from the attitude of your faculty to the zestful taste of your final senior project.

Ultimately, we will provide a solid culinary and management education in a professional atmosphere. We focus on fundamentals that build knowledge, pride, and confidence. An education here will provide you with the experience and skills that help you to thrive in your career.

Available to you are B.S. and A.S. degrees focused on such basics as cuisine preparation, food science, and business management. Each semester includes hands-on practicum study, even at the freshman level, and internships are available at a variety of sites. You will receive a comprehensive education taught in professionally equipped modern kitchens, where you can build essential skills while exploring the cuisines of many different cultures.

Develop and Explore Your Creativity
Develop your own artistic flair built on solid expertise that gives you a competitive edge. Some areas you will study are ice carving, nutrition, table service, advanced pastries, and bartending…abilities that raise you above the competition.

Build Associations Through Clubs and Competitions
You'll actively participate in local, regional, and national competitions, organizations, and clubs, including the American Culinary Federation, the National Ice Carving Association, and the Institute’s own Culinary Arts Club. Start networking from your first day in class.

Prepare for an Incredible Career
Your education will prepare you for positions in restaurants, hotels, private clubs, resorts, cruise lines, and casinos around the country. Graduates are also sought for such opportunities as food science and research, television, management careers, personal chef positions, and cookbook authorships.
