The nation’s only
true online DMS program!
Mountain State University’s exciting new online DMS program offers B.S. and A.S. degrees and a certificate program. The online DMS program is offered nationwide and is designed to keep the student as close to home as possible. Clinical rotations are intended to be offered at a clinical setting (hospital/clinic) as close to the student’s geographical locations as possible.
The online program is designed for students who are starting college for the first time, those who completed some or all appropriate college credits, graduates of health sciences programs recognized by the American Medical Association, and registered, licensed, or certified medical professionals.
Why choose MSU?
MSU offers a true online program, the first in the country! Students are not required to spend any time on a traditional campus and in-state tuition is the same as out-of-state tuition.
And although the online program is new, MSU has offered the traditional associate degree and certificate program since 1993 and bachelor’s degree program since 1995. Our graduates work all over the country and we have current clinical affiliations with hospitals throughout the United States.
MSU’s program gives you a broad range of DMS experience. Upon successfully completing the requirements of the program, you will be eligible to apply to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers for examinations in Physics, Abdomen, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Cardiovascular Principles, Vascular, and Echocardiography.
How it works
Students accepted in the online program are required to list up to five clinical affiliates for the DMS to contact. The student is not responsible for contacting the rotation site. The DMS Program will handle all communication with the affiliate.
Each clinical affiliate will exceed the requirements set by the Joint Review Commission in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. In the event that the hospital/clinic does not exceed JRC-DMS requirements the student may need to travel to the nearest affiliate that meets the Standards and Guidelines.
Are you eligible?
The online ASDMS and BSDMS programs are restricted to students 100 miles outside of the Beckley and Martinsburg Campus. There are no geographical restrictions for certificate students.
MSU’s online DMS program will offer a certificate, associate degree, and bachelor degree to the graduates of health sciences programs recognized by the American Medical Association, and registered, licensed, or certified medical professionals. Prior Learning Assessment and Transfer Credit for ARDMS registries are available to practicing sonographers.
Students without prior experience or AMA approved health care degree can be admitted to the associate and bachelor degree upon successful completion of program prerequisite courses.
Career options
Graduates of our program can expect to enter into a well-paid, respected healthcare professional position. Sonography is also a rewarding career choice for reasons unrelated to the attractive salaries. Graduates from this program have the opportunity to directly affect thousands of people on an individual basis.
Limited number of seats are available! Now, you can attend an online DMS program from your home base, with an introductory tuition rate of $400 per credit hour.
