Why choose Fire Science?
Mountain State University’s fire science program is designed to serve the needs of working firefighters as well as those who are new to the field, with courses created to build firefighting skills, advance your leadership rank, and increase your salary.

The Fire Science program at MSU includes courses taught by experienced firefighters and offers studies in hazardous materials, CPR, arson investigation, and firefighter leadership. Students will learn hands-on skills such as advanced firefighting, vehicle extraction, and driver pump operations.

The fire science program educates students in the science of fire prevention and control by emphasizing the development of their knowledge and understanding of fire safety, causes, and suppression.

Why choose MSU?
Firefighters can earn up to 30 hours of transfer credit based on prior fire training. All of the courses that comprise the CORE of MSU's fire science program have been mapped out to various national certification programs. In other words, you can earn the credit for each of these courses by successfully completing specific Fire Science related certifications and submitting them to MSU for review.
