Why choose a career in Human Resource Management?
Busy corporations need individuals who can help them perform more effectively by caring for their employees from the time they become interested in the organization until long after they leave. Those individuals are human resources managers. HR managers, also called personnel managers, focus on such issues as recruiting and managing employees, staff training, compensation and benefits management, labor relations, and organizational development.
Why choose MSU?
An Associate of Science in Human Resource Management from Mountain State University prepares students for an entry-level HR position; offers supplementary studies for those working in other fields whose duties include HR management; or provides a strong foundation for additional study toward a bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration.
What can I study?
Courses in MSU’s human resource management program include accounting and economics, principles of finance, ethics, compensation management, recruiting and personnel selection, strategic HR management, and information systems management—all skills that will ensure our graduates find success in the field of human resources.
What are my career options?
Human resource managers perform a variety of roles in organizations, including monitoring legal employment practices, staff recruiting, ensuring employee health and safety, compensation and benefits management, strategic planning, and change management. Positions available to MSU’s human resource management graduates include employment services manager, training and development manager, occupational analyst, benefits specialist, corporate recruiter, salary administrative assistant, and more. Career opportunities abound in both the public and private sector, in both for-profit and non-profit organizations and industries.
