Why choose a career in Medical Coding & Billing?
A certificate in medical coding and billing from Mountain State University can provide you with the job security you desire, at a time when healthcare providers recognize the crucial need for a staff that is well-trained and certified in the field. Students who have a desire to help others in the medical field, but who don’t wish to be involved in clinical care, may enjoy a career in medical coding and billing.
Why choose MSU?
Whether you’re already employed in a medical billing office, or simply want to expand your employment options by studying the field, the Medical Coding and Billing certificate program at Mountain State University will prepare you for national certification in medical coding and billing.
What can I study?
Students in MSU’s medical coding and billing program complete 35 credit hours over a full calendar year (including summer sessions). The certificate program is open to students in the medical assisting program or other associate or bachelor’s degree programs, as well as to those who do not wish to enroll in a degree program. You’ll study anatomy and physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, and health occupations, in addition to learning medical terminology, ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS codes, providing you with an advantage in the job field.
MSU’s medical and billing certificate program is excellent as a refresher-course for coders or billers who need to hone their skills, or who need to earn continuing education credits to earn or maintain a national certification. Let MSU prepare you to earn your national certification and become a preferred employee in the medical field. Let us prepare you for success!
