Why M.S.N. - Administration & Education?
The Administration and Education concentration prepares nurse managers and nurse administrators for leadership positions in a variety of health care organizations, and prepares nurse educators for teaching in any educational area.
For some students, becoming an educator is a great option for those who love to teach and are looking for a flexible schedule without a full-time clinical commitment. Other students already working in health care administration look to the M.S.N. program to boost them to levels of higher management responsibility.
What's Unique About the MSU Program?
Interdisciplinary approach. The MSU program of study incorporates an interdisciplinary perspective by combining the two areas of administration and education. Both coursework and clinical practice emphasize the development of your leadership skills and the application of theories of leadership, education, informatics, and research.
Flexible scheduling. MSU offers great flexibility in helping you meet your goals. Many classes are given once or twice a month in a full-day setting. Although students are encouraged to be on campus once a week for research, it’s not a requirement. Because most students within the program continue to work full during their graduate studies, services such as registration, advising, and library research assistance are available evenings as well as during the day.
