Why become a nurse?
With a nationwide shortage that shows no sign of decreasing, nursing has become a career that’s not only personally rewarding but also extremely secure. The ability to find immediate employment virtually anywhere, the flexibility of around-the-clock scheduling, and the opportunity for professional advancement make nursing a popular career choice. If you have a caring nature and a good aptitude for critical thinking, it may be the right field for you.
Why choose the MSU program?
Mountain State University’s nursing program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or B.S.N.—the most employable and advancement-oriented credential with which you can enter the profession. You’ll be prepared not only for immediate employment but also for long-term career growth and advanced study.
The program is available on the Beckley and Martinsburg campuses. Graduates are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), which you must pass to be licensed as a nurse.
