OTA certification exam results 2005,2006,2007

In order to become certified to practice each OTA graduate must pass a national certification examination.

For the years of 2005, 2006 and 2007 here is the pass rate information.

  • 2005: 21 students graduated and 22 were first time exam takers ( 1 student from the class of 2004 also took the exam for the first time)
    18 passed the exam the first time giving MSU a pass rate of 82%
  • 2006: 24 students graduated and 23 were first time test takers
    14 passed the exam the first time giving MSU a pass rate of 61%
  • 2007: 20 students graduated and there were 21 first time test takers (1 student from the previous class also took the exam for the first time)
    11 passed the exam the first time giving MSU a pass rate of 52%

For 2005, 2006 and 2007 There were 65 graduates of the occupational therapy assistant program at Mountain State University, 66 first time test takers with 43 passing on the first attempt giving MSU an overall average of 65.15%

At this time changes are being made in the program curriculum to increase the first time pass rate on the national exam. For information on these changes please contact the program director, Kay Blose, at kblose@mountainstate.edu
As a follow-up the pass rate increases significantly as graduates take the exam a second time.
