Why choose Radiologic Technology?
Radiologic Technology is a high-tech health services career for students who are interested in providing direct patient care and working as part of a healthcare team. Although no prior experience is necessary to apply for this program, students must demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving skills, honesty, dependability and adaptability.
The radiologic technology program develops competence in the knowledge and skills required for radiologic imaging. The integrated curriculum, designed to be completed in two years on a full-time basis, includes both didactic and clinical education components.
Career Opportunities
A nationwide shortage of healthcare workers is expected to continue through at least 2010. Radiologic technology graduates can work in rural or urban areas in varied settings, including hospitals, doctors’ offices, and free-standing imaging clinics. Some graduates may choose employment as a contract or travel technologist, and work at various locations throughout the world.
The MSU Radiologic Technology program faculty encourages graduates to practice the concept of life long learning by continuing their education, whether it be in a formal or informal manner. Graduates have opportunities for additional on-the-job training in other modalities such as CT, MRI, and Special Procedures.
