Spectrum is Mountain State University’s specially-designed program to help working adults earn a degree.  Students can obtain all general education requirements in as little as 18 months by attending classes one night a week in over 90 locations throughout West Virginia. 

In each of Spectrum’s four semesters, you’ll take a set group of related classes with an emphasis on real-world connections between subjects.  You’ll build a core of knowledge upon which you can create a career; you’ll develop an appreciation for a wide range of disciplines and strengthen your communication skills.  You’ll learn to make informed, thoughtful, and focused moral and ethical decisions based on an understanding of society’s issues. 

Spectrum is offered with four separate orientations:

• Spectrum Business
• Spectrum Healthcare
• Spectrum Early Childhood (Associate of Applied Science in the Psychology of Early Childhood Development)
• Spectrum Criminal Justice (Associate of Science in Criminal Justice
• Spectrum Legal Studies
