Why choose a career in teaching?
It’s a well-known fact that teachers can make a positive difference in the lives of their students.  Those who will enjoy a career in elementary or secondary education are those who want to work with children and teens, helping them build a strong educational foundation and instilling a sense of belonging and self-esteem.

Why choose MSU?
Mountain State University offers two Associate of Arts in Teacher Preparation programs that will give students a strong liberal studies foundation for entry into a bachelor’s program.  Both programs offers general studies courses, as well as courses specializing in math and music for elementary teachers, children’s literature, and WV State history.

What can I study?
MSU’s Teacher Preparation courses prepare students for transfer into a specialized program in education to complete their bachelor’s degree and other state requirements for teacher certification.  Early planning is necessary to ensure that your curriculum meets the transfer requirements of the program you select to complete your degree requirements.
