Mountain State University's Office of Financial Aid is here to
help. About 80 percent of MSU's students receive some form of financial
aid from the federal government, the state, the University, and
other sources. Almost all of the financial aid programs available
to traditional students are also available to adult learners.

Eligibility
In general, to be eligible for financial aid, you must:

Be accepted by Mountain State University for enrollment in a degree or certificate program |

Be a United States citizen or an eligible non-citizen. |
 |
Have a valid social security number. |
 |
Have a high school diploma or recognized equivalent. |
 |
Make satisfactory academic progress. |
 |
Not be in default on a student loan or owe money on a Federal grant. |
 |
Register with Selective Service if required. |
 |
Demonstrate financial need (not required for some loans). |

If you are interested in obtaining financial aid, contact the Mountain State University Financial Aid Office at 724.774.2400. The staff can discuss options with you and provide you with financial aid forms.
Because resources are limited and there are deadlines for various
types of aid, you are encouraged to complete your financial aid
application as soon as possible. Ideally, you should begin the
application process in January for the following fall term. |
