What are my career options?
Careers in legal studies
A legal studies degree provides a general background for a number of careers. Law school is certainly a logical next step from the legal studies program. Law school graduates have a wide range of options, including the traditional legal practice, which encompasses litigation and transactional work; corporate counsel; politics; local, state, and federal government, etc.
But law school is not the only option for MSU legal studies graduates. Several recent graduates are pursuing master’s degrees in other related fields. Others have successfully transitioned to the workplace and are using their training in law firms, state government, and businesses. The A.S. degree offers graduates the opportunity to work as paraprofessionals in law firms, corporate counsel groups, human resources offices, and government.
