Legal Studies (B.S., A.S.)

School of Business and Technology

B.S. in Legal Studies — Pre-law Requirements

The unique B.S. curriculum provides a comprehensive understanding of the legal system; how it works; how it interrelates with business, government, and society; and how it changes.

Graduates have many career choices in both the public and private sectors, including state and federal agencies and public institutions as well as law firms, corporations, and other business entities. Graduates may also choose to go on to law school or to pursue another advanced degree. The curriculum also provides career development for those who already have an A.S. in legal studies/paralegal or its equivalent.

In addition to the University’s 36-hour general education requirements, the B.S. in legal studies requires 66 hours of legal studies and 18 hours of business coursework drawn from accounting, computer information systems, and management.
