What type of job can I expect to find?
Explore the range of alternatives for your career in social work.
The number of jobs in the field of social work is expected to grow faster than the national average over the next ten years due to our aging population, increased need for public welfare and family services, and increased popularity of employee assistance programs. The need for social workers is especially great in rural areas. There are a wide range of job possibilities open to you once you complete your degree. According to Bureau of Labor statistics, 5 of 10 social work jobs are in health care and social assistance agencies, while 3 of 10 are in state and local government agencies.
Graduates of Mountain State's BSW program work in a wide variety of settings including hospitals, schools, mental health and substance abuse clinics, domestic violence programs, correctional facilities, psychiatric facilities, and nursing homes. They assist the elderly, young mothers, people with developmental disabilities, children, and teens. Working wherever people need assistance, our graduates are affecting families and communities -- one life at a time.
