Degree Completion

Accelerated Learning
Mountain State University's degree completion programs offer adult students an opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in as little as eighteen months. The program currently offers degrees in organizational leadership and administration of criminal justice at Beckley and other locations in West Virginia. If you are 25 years of age or older and have earned at least 40 hours of college credit, but have no degree, you may qualify to enter the degree completion program.

The core degree completion curriculum consists of 16 courses providing 48 college credits. This curriculum is divided into four concurrent academic semesters over 18 months. Students progress through these programs as members of a learning group, or cohort. This group oriented learning process allows students an opportunity to mesh their coursework with the real world experiences of group members.

Admission to a degree completion program is open to individuals eligible for admission to Mountain State University who also meet the following additional qualifications:

  • Minimum of 40 transferable semester hours
  • At least 2 years of work experience
