Traditional Learning

Almost everyone has, at some point, experienced traditional learning—face-to-face learning in a classroom setting. Traditional learning is an engaged, active exploration of information guided by someone with experience, usually a teacher or professor. Learning can take place in small or large classes, lab sessions, or seminars.

Mountain State University's outstanding faculty provides a level of personal involvement, both in and out of the classroom. Our low student-to-faculty ratio allows students to be actively involved in the classroom, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. These face-to-face experiences are enhanced by information technologies that are carefully selected to meet specific instructional needs.

In undergraduate study, a student is working toward a first degree, either an Associate (two-year) or a Bachelor's (four-year) degree. Graduate students have already completed a four-year degree and are working toward a Master's degree.
