LOUISVILLE, Ky. (September 8th, 2008) The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is proud to announce Player of the Week honors for September 1st- September 7th in Soccer.

Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week:

Alex Cottle, Mountain State University

Alex Cottle was named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for September 1st-7th. Cottle is a 6-0 sophomore midfielder from Kiev, Ukraine.  Cottle was involved on both goals in Mountain State University’s 2-0 win over Tennessee Wesleyan.  His header proved to the game winner in the 20th minute.  Cottle also assisted Daniel’s Smith goal later in the first half. 

Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week:

Daniel Smith, Mountain State University

Daniel Smith was named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for September 1st-7th.  Smith is a 6-2 freshman defender from London, England.  Smith was involved in defensive battles and led the backline to a shutout.  He also scored a goal in the 2-0 win.
