Law Enforcement and First Responders
Mountain State University proudly provides first responder and law enforcement personnel convenient and enriching educational experiences. MSU's online programs in Fire Science, Leadership, Criminal Justice and others have served the needs of personnel across the United States.
MSU has evaluated Police Officer Standarized Training (POST), Basic Peace Officer Training from 42 of the 50 states, as well as specialized training courses and programs completed by law enforcement and public safety officers including the U. S. Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Department of Justice, and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). Last year, MSU completed over 348 individual assessments of law enforcement related training.
We have also evaluated standardized fire service and emergency medical services training including training sanctioned by the Interational Fire Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), Emergency Management Institute (FEMA-EMI), the National Fire Academcy (FEMA-NFA) and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
Mountain State University has multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with over twenty law enforcement associations including the National Fraternal Order of Police University (NFOPU), Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT), Pennsylvania State Troopers' Association, American Jail Association (AJA), Texas State Association of Fire Fighers, and others across the United States.
