Hospitality Concentration
With the rise of the service industry, opportunities abound. The hospitality program covers every aspect from food and beverage planning to hospitality operations and resort management. Companies are increasingly emphasizing specialized training in hotel, restaurant, or hospitality management for most hotel management positions, so college graduates with degrees in this area will have the most job opportunities. Your degree in Business Administration will provide the knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed as a business professional.
Hotels increasingly emphasize specialized training. Postsecondary training in hotel, restaurant, or hospitality management is preferred for most hotel management positions… most employers require a bachelor’s degree with some education in business and computer literacy. (Bureau of Labor statistics, U.S. Dept. of Labor)
Hospitality is an industry that employs more than 200 million people worldwide. Half of the total hospitality industry is located within the United States. It is the second largest industry, ranking only slightly behind Health Care. And hospitality is growing worldwide at 10% a year, representing 2.9 million new jobs per year in the US.
