Human Resource Management Concentration
Many human resources managers not only manage the administrative function of their departments, but they also consult top executives regarding strategic planning and lead the company in suggesting and changing policies. More than ever, senior management is recognizing the significance of the human resources department to their financial success. Your degree in Business Administration will provide the knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed as a business professional.
The U.S. Labor Department reports that “Overall employment of human resources, training, and labor relations managers and specialists is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through 2014. In addition to openings due to growth, many job openings will arise from the need to replace workers who transfer to other occupations or leave the labor force.”
Curriculum
MSU's program structure helps you earn your degree program quickly and conveniently. During each 16-week semester, you complete a sequence of two classes every eight weeks. This approach qualifies you as a full-time student for financial aid purposes while still allowing you to focus your studies and manage your time without juggling assignments and projects from multiple classes. Most online students spend 10 to 20 hours a week on their studies.
In addition to business core courses, students with a concentration in Human Resource Management are required to take:
- LGLS 301 Employment Law 3
- MGMT 200 Compensation Management 3
- MGMT 308 Labor Relations 3
- MGMT 320 Recruitment and Personnel Selection 3
